so, today was alright. I'm convinced i have a cold, and it's not allergies.
So, for my throat, I'm eating Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia. and for a mood-lifter, i'm listening to "Hungry Eyes" by Eric Carmen from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. i must say, i love that movie muchly. (and now it's "Piano Man")
"Charlie, we accept the love we think we deserve."
-The Perks of Being A Wallflower
So, I was wasting time away playing a game on my sis's computer today. Kris has been telling me i should read or something, and i have actually wanted to read for a while, too, but i haven't found anything appealing. I was sitting in the chair, and it just struck me to browse through my sis's books, and i saw this one. I know Sammi was all about this book for a while, and, well... she's Sammi. and for that fact, i know it has to be a good book.
I flipped through the pages, and saw the format of it, letter style, and i love books like that (Go Ask Alice). So, i started reading, and the only thing that made me put the book down was Penny's barking. inside, outside, inside. this dog can't make up her mind. but, yeah. so, 24 pages into the book, i read above quote, and it just struck me. hard. because i realized i truly believe that.
I'm eager to continue the book. (for once). It's hard to keep my interest in a book. it can't be about boring things. i guess i can say i like books about messed up things... maybe. For example, i read a book called Smack. and it was about drugs, and how two teens get sucked into the world of addiction to heroine and the such. And Go Ask Alice, is pretty much the same thing.
Sammi, if you're reading this, leave me a little note here with your recommendations?
That's all for now, i guess. Oh, and there must be something with the moon, because both my cats are acting strangely friendly.
ok. Bye.

I recommend anything by Milan Kundera, J.D. Salinger, Sylvia Plath, F. Scott Fitzgerald. Anything from the classic literature section, really. And Chuck Pahluniuk, if you're looking for something more gruesome. Francesca Lia Block is really amazing, she writes about weird fairy-type shit, but I love her. If you give her a shot, I recommend Echo, and The Rose and the Beast.
I hope you feel better soon, and that everything goes well for you.
